It looks as if E!’s Fashion Police is struggling to stay afloat following the death of Joan Rivers. After a series of controversy, the show’s new host Kathy Griffin, as well as long time co-host Kelly Osbourne have both decided to leave the show, forcing the network to put the show on a hiatus until September.
“E!’s comedy series Fashion Police is going on hiatus and will return in September. We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of Fashion Police fans around the world,” the network said.
Just 7 episodes after stepping in to fill Joan Rivers’ position on the show, comedian Kathy Griffin made the decision to leave the show, posting this message on her twitter.
Co-Host Kelly Osbourne also decided to leave the show, after taking to twitter to threaten quitting following the controversy of Guiliana Rancic’s comments on Disney star Zendaya’s Oscar look.
“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers,” said the statement from E! regarding her exit.
The controversy began when host Giuliana Rancic made a comment stating that the dreadlocks Zendaya debuted at this year’s Academy awards made her smell like “Patchouli oil” and weed.
Zendaya responded to the controversy by posting this message to her followers on instagram.
Guiliana later made a public apology to Zendaya, which the star again responded to on her instagram page, accepting the apology and stating that she was glad it was a “learning experience.”
Will you guys continue to watch Fashion Police?
